What is the origin of the Tarot?

Ancient Egypt, Atlantis, extraterestrials or someone else? Who first conceived of the 22 images of the major arcana Tarot cards?

So helpful.

Not wishing to flame, but is it possible that you could expand on that one word answer?

I have studied the taro for 20 years, and spent the last 18 years creating my own. There is, despite what you may read, a definitive answer as to what the origins of the tarot are. I'll be happy to discuss it at length here next time I'm here.

WHAT FOLLOWS IS A PERSONAL REASONING, albeit from LOTS of study.

As for the origins of the Major Arcana, there are the 21 states of being represented in the Major arcanum. The fool is external to the tabloids and is the zero- the equal and opposite of the others when acting in combination.

The Fool has many aspects, and shouldn't really be used as it upsets the harmony of the other 21 tabloids.

The Minor Arcanum is a much later invention, added after the tarot was turned into a sideshow fortune telling device, and does not really play a necessary part in the exploration of the Human journey.

Want any more info? Don't want to bore you if that's enough.

Hi Mike,

I am interested in all your information on the Tarot, especially the 21 states of being.

Best Wishes,

James
